In nature

  1. First, the trout are prepped by putting them into a big tank which is filled with water

  2. The fish have to be underwater before they can be spawned

  3. A person dips a fish into water and picks it up over a bowl
  4. The person squeezes their hands together on the fish on the
bottom of fish and moves left and right to push all of the eggs out of the trout and into a bucket
  5. After the eggs from the female trout are collected they are fertilized by a male brook trout
  1. A female will prepare her nest by moving her tail to make sure there is a nice landing spot for her eggs
  2.  First the two trout rub against each other
  3. Then the female expels a stream of eggs
  4. After that, the father rejects a white cloud of sperm
  5. This happens 4 or 5 times
  6. A healthy female can lay 11,000 to 17,000 eggs
  7. Once the spawning is done then the female will likely leave the area
  8. The male will probably stay for a little bit to protect the nest
